The Workplace
Located in Gove Peninsula, NT, this is a busy, multi-franchised dealership environment, providing new and used vehicles, service, repairs and accessories for a range of vehicles. The majority of work is with Toyota 4WD’s, followed by Nissan as a distant second. This is an organised and safe workplace with a high level of comradery, where your experience and opinion are valued by the whole team, including your supportive management.
The Location
Located at the northern tip of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory - Nhulunbuy is an idyllic and safe place regardless if you are single or bringing up a family. This is one of the most unspoiled parts of Australia where you can enjoy superb camping amongst unspoiled savannah woodland, rainforest and myriads of waterholes. It has pristine beaches with beautiful white sand and clear blue ocean waters - probably the best in the country! (and you have them to yourself). Then there’s fishing.. like you never have experienced before.

The position
The focus of your role is to plan, organise, lead and control the vehicle service department to ensure the operation is productive, efficient, profitable and sustainable. Superb people skills are needed as you are the principal contact between the dealership and the customers. Reporting directly to the owners, you will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the workshop by estimating, planning, allocating, monitoring and controlling the workflow and quality. As this is a medium size dealership, you will need to be hands-on, assisting your team as required.
Working hours are Mon to Fri, with some half days on Saturdays
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will need to have managerial or supervisory experience within automotive service operations. You will also need significant 4WD experience, including Toyota and a high degree of knowledge about 4WD vehicles / accessories in general.
This is a hand-on role in a smaller environment, so the preference is with a person with trade qualifications as motor mechanic or equal industry experience.
We are looking for someone that understands that customer service is paramount, as it drives sales and therefore the success of the dealership.
You will need to have good people, administration and time management skills as well as be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

- Friendly and professional communication skills
- Solid computer skills
- Open driver’s licence
- Physically fit
