A permanent, full time position is available for a qualified (RF) Radio Electronics Communication Technician to join an Industry Leader in Cairns.

About the job

In this role you will learn, thrive and never get bored!  Here are some the things you will find yourself doing:

  • Manage bench technical programming and repairs to radio and other electronic communication devices
  • Plan, oversee and undertake technical, tower & onsite works.
  • Undertake or assist in onsite installations, repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with technical installations to motor vehicles, marine vessels and aircraft.
  • Field fault diagnosis of RF, Electrical and related equipment.
  • Preparation of Technical Reports, as required
  • Undertake technical Research & Development, as required
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of radio & related components & spare parts
  • Onsite inspections and Job Costing
  • Assist with technical sales information & general enquiries

The Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role you must be able to tick each of the criteria below

  • Cert III in Electronics & Communication
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision
  • Solid experience in the Radio Communications industry with advanced technical knowledge
  • White Card and current Driver’s licence
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Competent MS office user
  • Fit and healthy
  • Able to work away occasionally (once a quarter, for a few days)

Desirable Attributes

  • Cert III Telecommunication - Data Cabling Endorsements
  • Working Safely at Heights
  • High Risk Work Endorsements (Elevated Platform, Dogging & Rigging)
