Our client, FNQ Plastics supply and manufacture a versatile range of plastic products and components for domestic, industrial and commercial applications.

They have an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone to join their busy store located on Mulgrave Road, looking after the showroom and reception.

The Workplace

The Job

No day is the same in this exciting and varied role. The core focus is to fabricate range of products from Perspex and other plastic material. These products are varied from something small as an esky through to fencing and decking all the way to tanks and boat screening to complete shop fit outs.

The Duties

  • You will trim, drill, ream, countersink, grind, and finish parts to specifications, using templates, hand-tools, and power tools
  • You will fabricate, assemble, rework, and repair plastic products, applying knowledge of working characteristics of plastics and bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand-tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
  • You will read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications

 

This position is suitable for someone with fabrication and/or carpentry skills and qualifications. If you haven’t had an experience with plastics fabrication training will be provided.

You will be based in their workshop situation in Cairns with occasional on-site installations.

Working times are 8.30-5pm Mon- Fri, with WEEKENDS OFF.
