Join a locally owned nationally accredited business launching a new and exciting service aimed at the travel and tourism market in Cairns

The brief

After an extended period of market research and industry consultation your new employer are now launching a new and truly unique service. The new business extension will service the needs of holiday travellers seeking care as well as permanent carers travelling with them. The service will offer care-assisted tours to the reef and rainforest, respite care to enable a travelling caregiver a break, personal care and support during recovery, should an unexpected accident occur.

The role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as an ambassador for this new and unique travel service. Your main mission is to engage, educate & inspire the Cairns and Nth QLD tourism and health service community about the new service.

Whilst working autonomously, you will be part of an experienced team who pride themselves on outstanding customer service and an inclusive working environment, where you are appreciated and rewarded for you efforts.

Core Functions

  • Drive awareness and build relationships with the tourism and health and medical communities
  • Develop and implement sales plans
  • Manage the implementation of predetermined marketing strategies 
  • Manage digital media strategies, including web and social media
  • Content Creation
  • Public Relations both traditional and digital to engage both locals and potential travellers nationally
  • Fostering relationships with Tourism bodies and relevant stakeholders

 Essential skills and attributes

  • Strong sales / business development experience
  • Tourism experience and current local networks
  • Solid digital / social media / computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
  • Driver’s License

An understanding of the health and medical industry will be advantageous but is not essential.
