Information and Privacy Statement for Work Seekers

Your relationship with a private employment agent is regulated by a number of Commonwealth and State laws, in particular the Private Employment Agents Act 2005 and the Private Employment Agents (Code of Conduct)

Prior to providing you with placement and employment services, we are obliged as a private employment agent, to provide you, as a work seeker, with the following information:

We must not charge you a fee for finding, or attempting to find work for you.

We and our employees have a working knowledge of State and Commonwealth Legislation affecting the placement and employment of work seekers.

We will ensure that all placements are in accordance with any relevant legislative requirements.

If you believe that your agent has acted illegally, or inappropriately or in a false or misleading way, you may obtain information about action that may be taken from the department of Industrial Relations, GPO Box 69, Brisbane QLD, 4001, Phone (07) 32252069

Signature Staff recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of personal and sensitive information collected about our clients and job seekers. We collect personal information when we provide our services to you. Generally, we will tell you why we are collecting information and how we plan to use it. The type of information collected is usually your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address. If you are a jobseeker, we may also collect details of any competency tests or other information relating to your career. We will, where practicable, collect information directly from you. We may also request sensitive information from you, including medical conditions, criminal records, racial/ethnic origin, and similar data, with your consent.

We use this information to provide our services to you or to fulfil administrative functions associated with these services. If you are a job seeker, we may share your information with other companies for the purpose of finding you employment. Signature Staff does not sell, rent, lend or otherwise trade your personal information to others without your authorisation. You have the right to access personal information about you held by Signature Staff. You also have the right to contact our Privacy Officer to discuss any matters concerning your personal details.
